Kylie Minogue AO OBE is one of Australia's most famous exports, who came to live in the UK for a number of years before returning to her homeland in 2021. Perhaps best known for her pop career, she first made her name on the long-running TV series, Neighbours, and has since become a multi award-winning artist so famous she is known mononymously as Kylie.
Kylie Minogue's journey into the world of wine
Kylie is amongst the most prolific of celebrity wine enthusiasts, selling nine different varieties of wine produced in France, Italy, Australia, and Spain. Her interest in wine is said to date back to her early twenties, when she travelled in France with her then boyfriend, Michael Hutchence. Of course, Australia itself is well known for its wines as well.
Her interest in wine was not formalised however, until 2020, when she partnered with London-based celebrity wine supremo, Paul Schaafsma of Benchmark Drinks. The planets were clearly aligned when he contacted her at a time when she had been contemplating how to create her own rosé. The first in her eponymous range to be released was a Vin de France rosé from the 2019 vintage, launched in the UK on 28th May – the singer’s 52nd birthday. Since then, the successful range has only grown.
