What you need to know about the Gary Barlow wine collection
Gary Barlow OBE has had a multifaceted career. The English singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and television personality first entered public consciousness in the boy band Take That, alongside the likes of Robbie Williams, before he embarked on a successful solo career. Since then, he has also established himself as a TV and radio personality, notably as a judge on ITV's The X Factor. He has also been praised for his extensive charity work.
Gary Barlow's journey into the world of wine
Barlow has said that his interest in wine began in his mid-twenties when a friend introduced him to the world of Bordeaux. Having zeroed in on clarets in particular, he began attending lunches at the famous Berry Bros. & Rudd, furthering his knowledge and understanding of viticulture. He has said he enjoys the wine itself but also the convivial nature of how it's consumed - something to share with friends and family.
Upon deciding to become more formally involved with the world of wine, he partnered with celebrity wine connoisseur, Paul Schaafsma, and together they travelled to find just the right thing. He ultimately found what he was looking for in Spain, with wine made from grapes grown in certified organic plots in Castilla, planted with old, low-yielding, dry-farmed bush vines.
What the reviews say about Gary Barlow Organic
There's no one quite like the critics to give you an insight into the success of a wine collaboration and Gary Barlow Organic seems to meet with approval as a reliable option as a gift or to serve with dinner.
"Get past the massive piano keys on the label and inside is a really well made wine, a blend of organic Tempranillo and Syrah grapes grown in the Castilla region in Spain. It’s not been anywhere near an oak barrel so this is all about the fruit: juicy raspberry and black cherry flavours with super soft tannins. Very, very drinkable." - The Knackered Mother's Wine Club
"In the world of celebrity wines, there are some, questionable bottles out there, but this is not one of them, it’s safe and drinkable enough and I’m sure it will be a success." - VinoViews
